KM Sufi Ensemble – A Legacy of Devotion & Transcendence

The KM Sufi Ensemble, a distinguished group from AR Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory, is dedicated to preserving and sharing the 700-year-old tradition of Sufi qawwali. Rooted in the rich heritage of spiritual music, the ensemble embodies the timeless themes of love, devotion, and self-discovery, creating performances that transcend cultural and geographical boundaries.

Formed out of Rahman’s deep love for Sufi music, the ensemble is inspired by legends such as Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and carries forward the tradition of soul-stirring qawwalis. Under the guidance of mentors at the KM Music Conservatory, the group delves into the ethics, aesthetics, and philosophy of Sufi music, delivering each performance as an offering of unity, compassion, and inner peace.
